Honorio Rubio, Macerado 2020

The Rubio family have been making wine in the Rioja Alta for well-over a century, where the original clay cellar dug by Juan Rubio Hernando to mature his wines in stone vats is still in use today. Made from 100% Viura, Macerado 2020 is a skin-contact white (or, orange) wine. Deep amber in colour with aromas of baked apple, olives and honey; the palate is fresh yet ripe, with nutty notes and a touch of bitter spice. It's a superb pair with bolder, spicier flavours - or our favourite, Nando's peri peri chicken.
